FECEC successfully concludes another edition of the ‘Menja sa i mou-te’ campaign

The 13th Catalan Cancer Prevention Week (SECAPC) of the FECEC Junts contra el Càncer closed on Friday with the participation of more than 250 people in the family nutrition workshops “A casa, mengem saludable” and 2,100 children in the activity “L’Hort d’en Marçal”.

This year, the central focus of the campaign has been the prevention of overweight and obesity in children, one of the risk factors for developing cancer. In this regard, the 11 workshops held throughout the country have brought together more than 250 people who have been able to learn from certified nutritionists how to eat healthily as a family to prevent the disease.

Además, en redes sociales, la FECEC Junts contra el Càncer has shared a series of tips on healthy eating, lifestyles and physical activity for families prepared with the collaboration of the Agència de Salut Pública de Catalunya.

As for the activity in schools “L’Hort d’en Marçal”, 2,100 children from nearly 60 schools throughout Catalonia have learned to develop healthy lifestyles that will stay with them throughout their lives. The activity is both educational and fun: with a fun video, the children learned about the properties of fruit and vegetables and, later, they made some fruit skewers that they could try. This activity has had, once again, the collaboration of Caprabo supermarkets, responsible for distributing the fruit in schools, and the volunteers of the federated entities.

In addition to Caprabo, the SECAPC “Menja sa i mou-te 2024” has the support of the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Barcelona, Dipsalut of the Diputació de Girona, the Diputació de Lleida, the Ajuntament de Barcelona and La Xarxa.
