On the eve of the Colorectal Cancer Awareness Day, the Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya<\/a> held the event titled \u201c25 anys del Programa de cribratge de c\u00e0ncer colorectal a Catalunya: situaci\u00f3 i reptes,\u201d an event where various professionals involved in the Program for the Early Prevention of colorectal cancer reviewed the 25-year history of the screening program and discussed future challenges. The FECEC Junts contra el C\u00e0ncer participated to present the perspective of patient organizations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the segment for the organizations, Neus Cols, a member of the Board of Directors of the FECEC Junts contra el C\u00e0ncer and president of the Associaci\u00f3 Catalana d\u2019Ostomitzats (ACO), and Pau Berber, from the Associaci\u00f3 Contra el C\u00e0ncer a Barcelona, spoke about the program from the patient\u2019s perspective and emphasized the need for greater transparency in the data, the urgent need to increase participation, and the extension of the program up to age 74, instead of the current limit of 69.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing remarks were also delivered by representatives of patient organizations, M. Assumpci\u00f3 Vil\u00e0, president of the FECEC, and Laureano Molins, president of the ACC. Both committed to continuing their work and supporting the administrations and professionals involved in the program. The event was concluded by Dr. Josep Maria Borr\u00e0s, director of the Pla director d\u2019oncologia, who thanked the participants for their contributions to this necessary event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
