The entity has intervened as a member entity of the European Cancer Leagues (ECL) to talk about the Right to be Forgotten in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session &#8220;The Right to be Forgotten beyond Cancer &#8211; Learning Perspectives and Patient Insights&#8221; organized by the Working Support Patient Group of the ECL, had as its objectives to deepen the right to be forgotten in cancer and how it affects people with a previous diagnosis of cancer and their families; and share knowledge and learning about the challenges faced by EU Member States that have introduced national legislation on this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>he session was attended by Suzanne Dowd, from the Irish Cancer Society, with the presentation &#8220;Defining the &#8216;Right to be Forgotten beyond cancer&#8217; and its impact&#8221;; Wim Geluykens, from the Kom op tegen Kanker, with the presentation &#8220;EU Initiatives and Key Learnings&#8221;; and Clara Ros\u00e0s, from FECEC Junts contra el C\u00e0ncer, with the presentation &#8220;The right to be forgotten in Spain, a work in progress&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With their presentations, the participants provided an overview of the initiatives being carried out in the Member States to improve the access of people with a previous diagnosis of cancer to access certain financial products or services . They have also shared examples of the impact on the patient when access to certain financial products or services is denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a priority issue of global interest, as thanks to advances in the search for new treatments and screening, more and more people are overcoming the disease.
