The motto of the SECAPC is &#8220;Menja sa i mou-te&#8221; (&#8220;Eat healthy and move yourself&#8221;) and aims to sensitize the population to adopt healthy lifestyles in accordance with the recommendations of the European Code against Cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The SECAPC campaign emphasizes three aspects:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eat healthy food in all ages<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Always maintain a healthy weight <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Daily physical activity for children, adults and the elderly<\/strong><br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The risk of cancer is reduced by 20% if you follow healthy lifestyles<br\/><\/h3>\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iarc.who.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Agency for Research on Cancer<\/a> strong&gt; <strong>(IARC)<\/strong>, organization that depends on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/es\" target=\"_blank \" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Health Organization (WHO)<\/a><\/strong> notes that the risk of cancer can be reduced through healthy eating and activity behaviors. It is estimated that, among Europeans, those who follow a healthy lifestyle in line with cancer prevention recommendations have <strong>nearly 20% less<\/strong> risk of developing the disease than those who do not respect these recommendations regarding lifestyle and body weight.<\/p>\n\n<p>This risk reduction has been calculated for a healthy lifestyle, which consists of: having a normal body weight and avoiding foods that promote weight gain, such as sugary drinks and fast food; practicing moderate activity for at least 30 minutes a day; preferably consume foods of plant origin (fruit, vegetables, legumes and whole grains); limit the consumption of red and processed meat; and limit the consumption of alcoholic beverages.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#menjasaimoute23 activities<br\/><\/h3>\n\n<p>The #menjasaimoute23 campaign combines a whole series of online and face-to-face activities from September 29 to October 8. This year, the campaign will be aimed especially at the elderly group.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Healthy eating workshops for all ages:<\/strong><br\/>They will take place all over the Catalan territory, given by registered nutritionists and dieticians, where they will teach the basic guidelines of food that helps prevent cancer. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Healthy eating workshops for the elderly:<\/strong><br\/>In collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/fatec.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Federaci\u00f3 d&#8217;Associaciones de la Gent Gran de Catalunya (FATEC)<\/strong><\/a>, the FECEC, Junts contra el C\u00e2ncer organizes a series of healthy eating workshops in the districts of Barcelona with the name <strong>\u201cWhat should we eat when we are old?\u201d.<\/strong> In these workshops, a group of nutritionists from the University of Barcelona will give specific advice to the elderly to prepare healthy meals that will help them reduce risk of suffering from this disease, as well as some recommendations when thinking about a menu when preparing meals for children and grandchildren.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Online advice on healthy eating and physical activity for the elderly:<\/strong><br\/>FECEC&#8217;s social networks will disseminate a whole series of basic advice for disease prevention, also aimed at to the elderly These tips, carried out in collaboration with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/salutpublica.gencat.cat\/ca\/inici\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Public Health Agency of Catalonia<\/a><\/strong>, are related to how to eat healthily and what type of moderate physical activity they can do in their daily life to reduce the risk of cancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>&#8216;L&#8217;Hort d&#8217;en Mar\u00e7al&#8217;, healthy fruit for boys and girls:<\/strong><br\/>The children&#8217;s activity &#8220;<strong>&#8220;L&#8217;Hort d&#8217;en Mar\u00e7al&#8221;<\/strong> will arrive in Catalan schools to encourage children aged between 5 and 7 to eat fruit. Using a video and educational material, the little ones will work in the classroom on the properties of fruit and make skewers with 7 different types of fruit that they can then eat. The aim is to help them develop a healthy eating style that will accompany them throughout their lives. A team of volunteers from the FECEC will collaborate in these activities, which count on the collaboration of Caprabo Supermarkets, in charge of donating the fruit for the workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/juntscontraelcancer.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ilovepdf_merged-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>DOWNLOAD THE target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dipsalut de la Diputaci\u00f3 de Girona<\/a> and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ajuntament de Barcelona<\/a>; and with the collaboration of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caprabo.com\/es\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Caprabo<\/a> and the <a
